Who We Are
Tirweddau Cymru Landscapes Wales (TCLW) is the national partnership representing Wales’ eight Designated Landscapes:
- The five National Landscapes – Anglesey, Clwydian Range & Dee Valley, Llŷn, Gower and the Wye Valley
- The three National Parks – Bannau Brycheiniog, Pembrokeshire Coast and Eryri
Together, these landscapes cover some of the most exceptional places in the UK. TCLW brings all eight together to collaborate, share expertise, and deliver work that has impact far beyond their boundaries.
What Are Designated Landscapes?
Designated Landscapes are places protected for their natural beauty, wildlife, and cultural heritage. They are nationally important and internationally recognised.
They have two key types:
National Parks
National Parks conserve and enhance their landscapes while also promoting opportunities for public enjoyment, education, and understanding.
National Landscapes
National Landscapes (formerly AONBs) also conserve and enhance, and they are encouraged to support recreation as long as it aligns with local needs such as farming, forestry, and community life.
