Over the past three years, Designated Landscapes across Wales have been working together to deliver ambitious projects through the Sustainable Landscapes, Sustainable Places programme (SLSP programme). These initiatives have been at the heart of tackling climate change, supporting nature recovery, promoting sustainable tourism, and strengthening our communities.
Achievements 2022–2025
From 2022 to 2025, the SLSP programme supported a wide range of effective projects across Wales’ eight Designated Landscapes – our National Parks and National Landscapes.
The results speak for themselves – communities, wildlife, and landscapes have all benefitted from targeted investment and collaborative working.

What’s Next: 2025–2027
Building on this success, the next phase of the programme will continue from 2025 to 2027, with fresh funding allocated to new and ongoing projects across Wales.
These projects will keep driving forward Welsh Government priorities, aligning closely with the statutory purposes and responsibilities of our National Park Authorities and National Landscapes.
The next round of work will focus on climate and nature.
