Tirweddau Cymru Landscapes Wales has welcomed a new partnership Chair and Vice Chair.
Andrew Blake, Wye Valley National Landscape Manager has served as Vice Chair for the past eighteen months, takes over as partnership Chair from Emyr Williams, Eryri National Park Authority. The Partnership also welcomes Catherine Mealing Jones, CEO of Bannau Brycheiniog National Park Authority as Vice Chair.
Andrew said: “It is a pleasure to take on the role of TCLW Chair and to welcome Catherine as TCLW Vice Chair. As a Partnership, TCLW will be working to ensure liaison, cohesion and support of both Cabinet Secretaries; Julie James MS, on National Parks and Huw Irranca-Davies MS, on National Landscapes. We will be exploring green Finance opportunities, especially through National Parks Partnership and National Landscape Association – Nature Based Solutions team.
“ We have started to and will maintain links and knowledge exchange with the Protected Landscape Partnership (PLP) in England, including integration and collaboration with National Trails. We will also continue to develop our working relationships, networking and the sharing of good practice, including through further seminar events.” he continued.
Catherine said: “I am delighted to be supporting Andrew and working with the TCLW team to continue to ensure that TCLW continues to go from strength to strength. The recent TCLW seminar in Bangor underlined the vital importance of the family of designated landscapes working together as we are often facing the same issues and there are times where putting our voices, expertise and perspectives together enables us to be heard more clearly and effectively. I look forward to working with colleagues as we engage with the Sustainable Farming Scheme and of course as we continue our vital work to tackle the nature and climate emergencies and I am particularly interested in how we can extend our influence through Race to Zero.”
