The Llŷn Peninsula – a beautiful coastal area with sandy beaches, mysterious inlets and caves, small historic ports and enchanting islands. Most of the AONB coastline is also within the Pen Llŷn a’r Sarnau Special Area of Conservation – with a wide variety of different marine habitats and species. There are stunning hills and mountains with glorious scenery such as yr EIfl and ancient Iron Age hillforts such as Tre’r Ceiri. Other interesting historical features include churches and chapels, holy wells and burial chambers.
The area has an unique history and culture and almost 72% of the AONB population are Welsh speakers.
