Resilient Uplands – Quality Upland Access

Upland path restoration, peat protection, improved visitor experience. There is a perennial programme of upland path work here, and repair needs are accelerating as more people use the paths, as more illegal off-road vehicle use does great damage to upland environments, and as the impacts of climate change reduce habitat and vegetation resilience to sudden change. The BBNPA is a leading organisation for upland path restoration work in Wales and further afield, and has demonstrated the value of upland path restoration to peatland conservation in previous WG-funded projects including the Nature Fund, Black Mountains Land Use Partnership and unfunded pressures grants.
