Katie lives within the national park and owns her own flock of sheep. She grew up on a beef farm and is passionate about nature-friendly food production and farming. Katie studied at Aberystwyth and Harper Adams University and is BASIS FACTS qualified. She has previously worked with farmers as a Catchment Advisor for a local rivers trust.

A farmer’s son from Llanuwchllyn, Ilan has always had a strong interest in the Welsh agricultural sector and is passionate about supporting farmers at a time of continuous change for the sector.
After completing a Master’s degree in Entrepreneurship and Innovation Management, he is now living in Cardiff, working as the Ffermio Bro Project Officer with the Bannau Brycheiniog National Park Authority. In this role, Ilan is excited to help deliver positive outcomes through the Ffermio Bro grant scheme, benefiting the sustainability of farming businesses, as well as the biodiversity and ecosystems that they support within the Park.
A first-language Welsh speaker, Ilan will be working closely with landowners to develop grant applications, facilitate collaborative projects, administer funding, and monitor project delivery.
Before joining the National Park Authority, Ilan worked as a Business and Research Officer at Mentera, the leading economic development company in Wales. There, he supported a range of business support and Entrepreneurship programmes and administered Welsh Government Challenge Funds. He also has a background in marketing and enjoys hiking and travelling when time allows.

After a lifetime of dairy farming in Flintshire, Dafydd has taken a step back from the farmyard to become the Ffermio Bro advisor for the Clwydian Range and Dee Valley National Landscape.
After taking a Mathematics degree at Manchester University, Dafydd came back to the family farm to work with his brother, who continues to run the farm as a beef unit.
He is acutely aware of the current profound changes in the agricultural sector and the immense challenges faced by all in the industry these days. He is committed to ensuring that the Ffermio Bro project plays a major role in helping farmers make the transition to the SFS scheme and to ensure a viable future for family farms in Wales.

Awel works as a Ffermio Bro Advisor covering the eastern part of the Eryri National Park. Awel advises farmers and landowners on the project, supports funding applications, and monitors activity delivery.
Awel lives on a beef and sheep farm with her husband and children, and she enjoys helping out on the farm. For three years, she has managed the Fferm Ifan Sustainable Management Scheme (SMS), which focused on enhancing ecosystem services on farms across the National Trust’s Ysbyty Estate. Previously, she worked as a Marketing Officer for the Arwain DGC project, which aims to reduce antibiotic use in sheep, cattle, and horses.
Awel has also held several partnership roles, including Partnership and Communication Officer for the National Peatland Action Programme, Yr Wyddfa Partnership Officer, and most recently, coordinator of the Eryri Nature Partnership.

Marc works as a Ffermio Bro Advisor covering the northern part of the Eryri National Park and the Anglesey National Landscape, his work involves advising farmers & landowners about the project, ensuring that landowners can access the right funding, supporting them through the application process and monitoring delivery of activities.
Marc has a keen interest in agriculture and is actively involved in farming on a daily basis. He has previously studied to a degree level in Agriculture & Countryside Management at Aberystwyth University. He’s also travelled to New Zealand and worked at Mount Linton Station which is one of the largest sheep and beef enterprises in the country.
Before joining the team as a Ffermio Bro Advisor Marc worked for Dwr Cymru in the water production part of the business. He’s also worked on National Grid major infrastructure projects as an Agricultural Liaison Officer arranging land access and undertaking land referencing exercises. Marc has previous experience in working on agri-environmental schemes having previously worked on the Glastir Advanced scheme undertaking farm assessments.

Iwan Works as a Ffermio Bro Advisor covering the south western part of Eryri National Park as well as the Llyn Designated Landscape. His work involves liaising with farmers to advise them on the project, allowing them to access the correct funding streams as well as advising and supporting them throughout the application process and monitoring project delivery.
Iwan has lived and worked in North Wales throughout most of his life and has previously worked for National Resources Wales as a Conservation Officer as well as for Cymdeithas Eryri, a charity delivering volunteer conservation work. Prior to working in the conservation sector, Iwan has worked as a contractor in various fields including Tree surgery and specialist access. Iwan earned a Beng in Electrical & Electronic Marine Engineering from Newcastle University before embarking on a short career at sea.
