Landscapes Wales

Landscapes for everyone

What do we mean by ‘landscapes for everyone?’

We all know we need to do more to be fully inclusive organisations.

We want every single person who comes into contact with our Welsh Designated Landscapes to have a positive experience – to feel that they are included and to feel that they belong.

Just as biodiversity enhances our ecosystems, so does the diversity of the people within our Landscapes. The unique experiences and perspectives of our diverse communities has the most incredible potential to add so much value to what we do, leading to new perspectives and better decision making by bringing challenge and perspectives from all of society.

We must remember that we are all nature, and nature needs all of us. Only by taking a truly people centred approach, by creating Landscapes where everyone belongs, can we together recover and protect their natural beauty, wildlife, environment and cultural heritage, ensuring that they will be here for Future Generations to come.

However, we know that access to nature isn’t fair: many people feel that they don’t belong in our Landscapes or in the environment sector.

We want to change this by breaking down barriers to access and creating inclusive cultures across our teams to further promote belonging, social justice and climate justice.

The key is to start – we hope that our Landscapes for Everyone – Belonging Resource Hwb will help you on your inclusive journey.
